Charleston Hughes was an Outside line backer at Northwood University in 2006, standing at 6'1 230lbs running a 4.56 40 yard dash time and ended his senior year as a first team all-american, led Division II football with the most solo tackles per game, and was named the defensive back of the year.
Hughes was not drafted into the NFL but had a work out with the Detroit Lions and with the New York Jets. One team thought that he was too small, the other team felt that he did not have the capability to pass rush in the NFL.
Hughes found a pay to play team out of Flint where he played for a year just to stay in shape.
Charleston decided to partner up with BKF Sports in 2007 and had a try out with the Columbus Destroyers, he had an extrodinary work out, showing that he was one of the most talented linebackers in the place that night but he still did not get a contract.
Then he had a work out with the Calgary Stampeders where he made it to the final cut and was released. Days later he got a call back because the Stampeders loss one of their line backers to an injury and they needed that spot filled. Charleston gained about 15 pounds but maintained his speed and was put on the line as a Defensive End, leading the Calgary to a grey cup championship. He recorded 71 tackles, 5 sacks, which led him to his 3 year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles.

What makes your agency different from any other?
At BKF Sports there are a few things that makes us different from other agencies:
First is our intentions, even though it is a business, we get more out of watching young people grow into productive citizens.
Secondly, whether an athlete is a potential first round pick or a possible free agent, we don't rely solely on our resources, we get out and make things happen. We need to see results and will push until we get it.
Thirdly, our athletes have found us to be very approachable, not only with sports related things but personal issues, seeking advice, they even call just to vent about ideas they may have come up with.
These are just a few things that makes us different from other agencies. People are important to us as people.
